Thanks to those who sent in to let us know that the great Ulrich Muehe,
star and revelation of The Lives of Others has died from stomach cancer.
He was only 54. He left an impact in film history, which may not mean much
when you’re fighting cancer and looking at the ugly truth of leaving your
two children and wife behind. But his performance, and the character he
plays in the film, will live on.
Rest in peace.
去年竊聽風暴的奧斯卡，
算是他疾病時的最大禮物吧。
他也因此片得了巴伐利亞電影節、
哥本哈根電影節、歐洲電影獎、
德國電影獎、德國影協的五座最佳男主角。
今年奧斯卡不至於再入圍他了，
很可惜沒有得過三大影展獎。
